Vader's Journey is set a few months before Episode IV - 'A New Hope'. The Empire is winning in the eternal struggle against the Rebellion, and the Rebels managed to get hold of an Imperial shuttle. The shuttle was delivering secret documents such as Imperial base locations, star destroyer plans and other technical information on Imperial defenses. This information can make the Rebellion very strong. Imperial spies have reported that the Rebels haven't found the documents on board the shuttle yet, but the Empire must hurry to retrieve them before the Rebellion finds them. The shuttle has been located at a Rebel base on Kalun. Imperial troops have been sent in, but the Rebel security at this base was able to extinguish them. Tie bombers have bombed the area, which didn't cause many casualties, but half of the base was caved in! Darth Vader realizes how serious the situation is and suggests that the Rebel soldiers, no matter how tough they are, they are no match for the dark side of the force. Imperial officers see it as stupid that one Jedi can defeat a Rebellion army, but the Emperor endorses the idea. Lord Vader heads for Kalun in his Imperial shuttle to retrieve the secret documents.
