First Impressions
Well, the plot seemed a little bland, and the level never really gave much more impression that. There was some great plot, although the way the level ends I would guess a sequel is in the works. Anyway, this is one of those 'classic' MotS levels created with JED 0.5, so it's pretty old, so take that into account when you read this review. The author had some instructions on how to change everything to Darth Vader (presumably changing the hand .mats and so forth) although the skin of Darth worked fine with just the .goo.

Design / Visuals
Architecture, while primitive compared to some levels today, is still rather good. There were some alcoves in the roof, wall panels, ramps, outdoor areas and some other good stuff, and the choice of textures was admirable. The stitching of said textures, however, was downright poor. It looked as though the level was made in JED 0.3 and then ported to MotS using 0.5 without the benefit of anyone stitching the textures in the 3d Preview, it was that bad. It looked as if every single surface was going in a completely different direction to whatever was near it, completely shattering the realism.
Dynamics / Interactivity
Enemy and Item placement was very well done, with enemies attacking from everywhere so only a few were needed, yet they still gave maximum challenge. For example, in one area there was a switch, and if you went to press it a Rebel standing on a platform in the roof shot you in the back. Very annoying. Although I think it was a little too hard, as the Dark Lord was only armed with his saber (which was the wrong colour) and a Bryar Pistol with 50 charges. The author modified it so that no enemies dropped any weapons, making it next to impossible to make it through the level alive. Fortunately we were equipped with Force Healing (and nearly every other power) but it stopped working a quarter way into the level, and it was afflicted with the 'flickering' bug to boot. As for enhancements, well there was Darth Vader himself, the new Rebel 3dos which were nicely done, but that was about it. There was a key hunt type puzzle, where you had to go down the first path, get the red key, go back to the red door, go down there, get the blue key, etc. But other than that the closest the level got to a puzzle was having to activate 2 switches and making it through a door before it closed.
Playing Experience / Atmosphere
The atmosphere was pretty good, with the lighting dark and mysterious, and Vader walking about armed only with a lightsabre and the force. There were a few ambient sounds, although not many. There were only a few bugs in the level, all to do with the force powers, but thankfully there were no crashes. The mission was a little short to really get into, although it was a fun little jaunt anyway.

Final Thoughts
If you haven't played this level before, go and download it and give it a whirl and remember the old days, although don't expect too much. This level was good for it's time but just feels a little lacking compared to some of today's levels.
