Deep Facility C5-025 was a nice level, albeit a somewhat short one. The atmosphere was a delightful mix of mystery and intrigue, and lent to the quality of the gameplay. Check out the rest of the review to find out more about this interesting level.

Design / Visuals
The architecture of Deep Facility C5-025 was quite decent, but lacked the consistency that could have made it even more memorable. Though there were a number of great detailed areas such as the offices with glass windows, there were also many plain hallways without much in the way of eye-candy. However, the level was certainly not boring looking because the more detailed areas and the plain areas seemed to alternate a bit. For example, a series of plain hallways would lead to a nice little control center or some more interesting architecture. I liked the rubble collapses that blocked the hallways; they were much more realistic and cool looking than others I have seen in the past. Furthermore, there were numerous ramps, guard rails, pillars, support beams, elevator shafts and other things you would expect to find in an underground facility. The texturing of Deep Facility C5-025 also contributed to the unique feel and quality of the level. The texture selections gave a creepy industrial feeling to the architecture, and that made the perfect setting for this level. Unfortunately there were some misalignments and stitching errors throughout the facility, but they did not ruin the look. In addition, there was a pretty decent variety and good usage of textures.
Dynamics / Interactivity
The dynamics of Deep Facility C5-025 were excellent. The difficulty was well nigh perfect; the terrorist enemies were very tough to kill, and consequently they were spread out and were rarely in groups larger than two. Furthermore, to counter the increased strength of your enemies, there are enough powerups to keep you alive and fighting. Because I was not constantly on the verge of death, I was able to get into the game. The atmosphere and theme drew me in, and I wasn't just sitting around complaining about how there should be more shields or health packs. Rather, I was leaning forward towards the screen with my eyes pealed for sneaky terrorists, intent upon the game that I was busy enjoying. The enhancements were a little bit of a let down. For starters, there were no cutscenes and the objectives did not get marked off as you completed them. To further compound these problems, there were very few other enhancements! To tell the truth, I just racked by brain for two minutes and I can't remember opening a simple door. The highlight of enhancements was the new enemy skin; they are terrorists wearing some cool tactical suits, similar to one of the uniforms I've seen in Rainbow 6.
Playing Experience / Atmosphere
I found the atmosphere of the level to be phenomenal. It was dim and spooky, interesting and creepy. I just had this cool feeling as I was skulking around, and I really enjoyed being so interested in a level. There was one problem however; a number of things were unrealistic. For example, you start out in a dark little corner of the facility. No doors, windows, or vents are right around you that you could have come out of. In addition, you swim through some water at one point and end up at a small control station...and there are no other doors in that area. Do the people who work at the facility have to swim through to get to work at that station? Anyway, it was not too big a deal, because the level was still fun. Gameplay was interesting because you had to crawl though vents, climb up elevator shafts, and do a lot of dirty work to get where you need to go. The objectives were somewhat lame, but they sufficed to give a little bit of structure to your mission.
