First Impressions
This level is a recreation of the events at the end of Timothy Zahn's novel, "The Last Command." It was pretty historically acurate, though a little weak in architecture and gameplay.

Design / Visuals
The architecture of The Last Command was very limited. To begin with, the level itself was tiny, containing only three basic areas; up the stairs, down the stairs, and in between. Furthermore, these areas didn't have very much at all in the way of detail. The level was pretty much one big box, merely with a few other little areas thrown in. There was a little catwalk that you could forcejump onto, a few pits, and a little room down a set of steps. A few little pillars rounded out the architectural details. The texturing was pretty decent. The level looked pretty nice, and had textures that suited and Imperial base. I didn't notice any blatant stitching errors, and the selections actually complimented each other rather well. I can't really gripe about variety because the level was so small - get a couple textures that look nice, and you're all set.
Dynamics / Interactivity
Enemy placement was, well...not applicable. The only foes were clone Luuke and Joruus C'Boath, an insane Jedi Master. On your side is the real Luke (you're Mara). C'Boath used lightning, and Luuke had Skywalker's saber that he dropped, along with his hand, at Cloud City. With the aid of Luke and your extensive Force powers, the level was not difficult. There was virtually no need for powerups, so the bacta tank and force surge that I found in the rafters were plenty to get me through the battle. There were a number of control consoles, panels, and a throne that made the area look like a true command center. Also, I noticed a strange looking particle blob that I assume was the Emperor's galaxy hologram. The enhancements of the level were pretty decent. When Leia, Karrde and Han step in, a walkway drops on them just as in the novel, and the cutscenes as well were accurate. The latter were slightly boring, but they could have been much worse. The new skins/enemies were done nicely as well.
Playing Experience / Atmosphere
The atmosphere was decent, but I felt that the level could have been expanded a little more into a truly detailed representation of the throne-room of Mount Tantiss. When I read the book, I envisioned a much larger, cavernous area, full of catwalks, pitfalls, control stations, etc. This level just seemed to be a small mock-up, not an extended project to make a complete re-creation. On the other hand, the lighting was pretty nice. The blue light highlighted things well and looked neat. However, I don't recall seeing a source for it. As with architecture, the gameplay of the Last Command was rather limited. You only fight two enemies in a tiny battleground with virtually nowhere to go, and it wasn't really that exciting. Also, the level did crash on me once, but it was inexplicable. It may just have been my computer acting up, or a strange flaw in the level.

Final Thoughts
Download this level and try it out. If you haven't read the book, don't worry. You can pick up the plot pretty easily in the briefing and cutscenes.
